Gel's Learning Lab is committed to helping all students succeed academically. Post-pandemic students across the world have had to adjust to learning conditions that conformed to the national pandemic.
Gel's Learning Lab aims to meet students where they are and creates learning environments specific to their individual needs.
Intervention Approach
The Intervention Approach is designed for students that are not, yet, performing at grade level. This approach works closely with the parents and teachers to ensure the tutoring plan fits directly with the student's intervention goals.
Get Ahead Approach
The Get Ahead Approach is designed for students that are performing at grade level and desire to move ahead. This program is intended to keep students passionate and on fire for learning. These sessions include standardized test prep, introductions to forthcoming lessons, and more.

Parent Survey
The process initiates with a parent survey. This survey is a space for you to provide information about your child, the support needed, and your child's interest. You will also upload your child's most recent progress report or report card.
Initial Assessment
On your child's first session, we will spend time assessing basic skills. These skills will be assessed via games and activities. Most students are nervous during our first session and this helps me get to know them and see what they know.
Teacher Contact
With your consent, I will send a questionnaire to your child's teacher regarding your child's specific performance and how your child responds emotionally and behaviorally to specific subjects.
Personalized Learning Plan
After viewing the teacher questionnaire and the notes from our first session, we will identify tutoring goals for your student. These goals will be emailed to you and each week I will note the progress and process of each goal.

Gel's Learning Lab was founded by Angelica Colvin, or Gel, as a solution for parents needing support amidst the pandemic.
Angelica is a graduate of East Carolina University and UNC-Wilmington. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Pedagogy Studies and a Master's degree in Teaching. With over a decade of experience working with kids and five years in the classroom, Angelica is committed to seeing students excel academically.
